The Hudong Gantry Crane project has started construction - the manufacturing strength of special equipment has been further demonstrated

On August 5th, the 1,600-ton gantry crane project for Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding's No. 1 dry dock, which was constructed by Shanghai Construction Steel Structure, broke ground. The gantry crane has a capacity of approximately 3,500 tons and a span of 172 meters. The project covers multiple links and is the company's first full-process contracted gantry crane project. The company has been actively exploring and successfully obtained the production license for special equipment, marching forward with confidence in the field of special equipment manufacturing!

At the project's groundbreaking ceremony, leaders from Hudong-Zhonghua Changxing Shipbuilding Base, CSSC Ninth Research Institute and Shanghai Construction Steel Structure gathered on the spot to witness this significant moment together and inject strong confidence into the project. The construction of this gantry crane covers multiple links such as deepening, procurement, processing, pre-assembly and final assembly, which places extremely high demands on the comprehensive strength of Shanghai Construction Steel Structure. Previously, our company has successfully completed the gantry crane project of Zhenhua Heavy Industries, accumulating rich experience for the construction of key equipment projects in large modern shipyards.

It is learned that the gantry crane is expected to be completed and delivered to the Changxing Shipbuilding Base of Hudong Shipyard for use by the end of April 2026. It is powerful and features multiple functions such as single lifting, multi-hook lifting, and component flipping in the air. It can meet the diverse hoisting requirements of hull construction. After going into production, it will mainly be used in key processes such as the assembly and closing of hull sections, lifting, and hoisting.

The Changxing National Marine Equipment Park with a scale of over 100 billion yuan is an important cluster area for China's Marine equipment industry.
